Beaker Street

Beaker Street is a not-for-profit cultural organisation in lutruwita/Tasmania. We explore the intersection of art and science, and facilitate connections and collaborations amongst artists, scientists, local businesses and the public. Our flagship event —  Beaker Street Festival — takes place around Tasmania each August, with a Festival Hub at the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery. Our programming features engaging, interactive and celebratory events, workshops, talks, installations, discussions, and tours. We aim to promote curiosity, both as a way of bringing people together, as well as inviting them into scientific discovery — particularly those who may have had limited opportunity to do so previously. We hope to encourage people to experiment, ask questions, discover new ideas, and challenge their assumptions.
