Meet the Producers Dinner

A Gastronomic tribute to Northern Tasmania
Join Chef Massimo Mele and celebrated journalist and restaurant critic Dani Valent, as we celebrate the makers and growers of the region with a four-course menu paired with matching Tasmanian wines.
Now in its third year, Grain of the Silo’s ‘Meet the Producer’ event celebrates a commitment to local farms and sustainable food practices. In creating strong connections with producers and a commitment to sourcing local, the team at Grain believes we can all create stronger, more resilient food systems.
Throughout the evening you will have the unique opportunity to engage with and meet talented local artisans as we sample their fine fare over a four-course dinner crafted with their standout, seasonal ingredients and matched with wines from across the state.
The celebration will commence after sundown with fire side snacks, curated by Grain Head Chef Mika Chae, and sparkling wine on the deck overlooking kanamaluka/Tamar River.
Post snacks and sparkling, we will proceed inside to enjoy a shared 4 course menu crafted by Grain’s Food Director Massimo Mele and Executive Chef Thomas Pirker.
Across the evening, acclaimed food writer and podcaster Dani Valent will lead a dialogue with Massimo, Thomas, Mika and producers to recount always-entertaining tales from the land. Together, we’ll delve into the farming practices that result in the exceptional produce on your plate and in your glass.
