Hugh Christie

CEO
Tasmanian Waste & Resource Recovery Board

Hugh has spent the last twenty years in a variety of resource management roles, primarily focussed on the rural water sector, including the last ten years in a range of senior and executive roles in Tasmania and Victoria.

This has included significant experiences in advocating for better outcomes for customers and the community in both operational, regulatory, and advocacy roles within government businesses and member-based organisations.

These experiences have given Hugh a depth of knowledge and experience with the engagement of stakeholders and communities to not only understand their concerns, but also how to work towards mutually beneficial outcomes.

His focus with the Waste and Resource Recovery Board is to ensure a robust approach that allows the Board to work with and invest in industry and the community to deliver sustainable changes and confidence in the sector to drive continued investment in reducing all waste streams, increasing reuse and recycling rates, and driving towards a more circular future for Tasmania.

Hugh will be speaking at Conversations in the City ‘Seeds of Transformation’ on Friday, 2nd of August.
