Food has always been about more than sustenance – it carries culture, memory and connection. This agriCULTURED event brings together Tasmanian food stories centered on oysters to explore our relationship with the sea and with one another.

Joining this yarn will be members of the indigenous community reflecting on knowledge, connection to Country and practices carried across generations. Alongside this, a Tasmanian producer will share the contemporary story of oysters – how they are grown, gathered and enjoyed today, and the rituals of sharing.

Together, these stories offer different perspectives across time, connected by a common thread: the way food creates belonging, brings people together and helps shape Tasmania’s culture and identity.
