Dr Emma Lee
Emma has spent the last 10 years in growing a Tasmanian Aboriginal commercial abalone fishery. She works at the intersection of food sovereignty, Indigenous rights and economic empowerment for future Aboriginal generations. The abalone fishery is a space for young Aboriginal people to build the skills for healthy workforce capacity as much as the cultural knowledge to take care of sea country. In returning abalone back to Tasmanian tables, Emma believes that the more people eat it, the more we are healing relationships between Aboriginal and other Tasmanians.
