Angela Hawdon

Veteran in land management strategy and ecology, currently leading strategic engagements for Farming for the Future

Angela Hawdon, a dedicated land management strategist, brings over 25 years of multifaceted experience to her current Strategic Engagements Manager role at Farming for the Future.

Trained in ecology, Angela honed her management skills in government-protected areas and coastal planning. Her career evolved towards collaborative efforts with the extractive industry, focusing on addressing environmental challenges and designing offsets. This specialisation led her to work on offset projects with conservation NGOs for large corporates across South Australia, Indonesia, South Africa, and Mongolia.

In her capacity as the head of Fauna & Flora International’s Australia program, Angela oversaw global conservation initiatives in collaborations BHP Billiton and Rio Tinto, alongside managing a portfolio of Australian conservation projects.

Notably, Angela played a pivotal role in initiating Bush Heritage’s agricultural strategy, including designing co-benefit methods under the Accounting for Nature framework and co-ordinating ecological teams collecting farm data for the Farming for the Future program.
