Dr. Jacqui Newling

Historian, gastronomer and museum curator, with specialisations in Australian settler-colonial history, public history and place-based interpretation, and food heritage

Dr Jacqui Newling is a gastronomic historian and museum curator who specialises in Australian food heritage. Jacqui’s award winning book, Eat your history, stories and recipes from Australian kitchens takes a hands on approach, to rediscover all-but-forgotten tastes and cooking techniques, and dishes once commonplace on Australian tables. Her more recent work has a focus on food and settler-colonial identity in Australia, past and present.
