Crop physiologist and research leader with expertise in sustainable agriculture, climate resilience, and plant nitrogen and carbon assimilation.

My research focuses on developing strategies to improve crop performance, nutrient use efficiency, and sustainability under future climate conditions. I lead multidisciplinary collaborations that integrate crop physiology, molecular biology, and systems-based approaches to address climate and emissions challenges in Australian agriculture.

Currently, Tory leads industry-engaged programs through the Tasmanian Institute of Agriculture, including projects on Zero Net Emissions Horticulture, climate adaptation in legumes, and sustainable crop protection technologies. Recognised through a Tall Poppy Award, I am committed to translating science into impact through partnership, innovation, and capacity building.
