Felicity Richards is a Tasmanian beef producer, agricultural leader and policy professional with a strong interest in how policy decisions translate into practical outcomes for farmers and rural communities.

After studying law at the Australian National University and spending a decade working in policy and regulation, Felicity returned to Tasmania and agriculture in 2013. She is now involved in a family beef farming business operating across northern Tasmania and Flinders Island.

Felicity is Chair of Farmsafe Australia and has previously chaired the Tasmanian Biosecurity Advisory Committee and Tasmanian Livestock Processing Taskforce. Her work across agriculture, government and industry has given her a particular interest in the complicated relationship between public policy, community expectations and the realities of producing food.

She brings a farmer’s perspective to conversations about Australia’s food future, with a focus on ensuring policy is practical, evidence-based and grounded in how agricultural businesses actually operate.
