Kirsha Kaechele

Kirsha Kaechele is an artist, curator and founder of Material Institute, a non-profit social project working across lutruwita / Tasmania and New Orleans.

Her work spans food, land, culture and society, using creative intervention to transform entrenched problems and bring unlikely groups together.

Through Material Institute’s 24 Carrot Gardens, she connects young people with growing, cooking and sharing food. Her projects include Eat the Problem, exploring invasive species, ecology and food systems; Forest Congress, reimagining forestry through collaboration; and the Ladies Lounge, where art, gender and law collided spectacularly.
