Professor Robert Hoffmann

Professor of Economics at the University of Tasmania

Robert Hoffmann is a Professor of Economics at the University of Tasmania, where he applies behavioural science to challenges in sustainability, collective action and public policy. His research explores how decision-making is shaped by social norms, culture, identity and institutional context, and how these factors influence our ability to adapt in a changing world.

His work draws on social psychology, experimental and behavioural economics to better understand human behaviour in real-world systems, including work, environment, and community life. He is particularly interested in how psychological and structural factors interact to shape sustainable action.
